So, I Started A New Project...

First, you should go sign up for my 2015 Bowman Break. Helluva deal! You know you want to do it.
--------------------
I've been gone a while. I know this. Sadly, 2015 hasn't been much better than 2014. My free time has been hovering near "nonexistent" for the last few months. I'm sure that shows in the posts I've made over that time. I have a few trade packages to post, and I will try to get to that soon.

As a side note, it isn't just my blog that has been suffering. As I sat in my office today going over a project with a student, my stomach began to hurt. I thought back, and it had been almost 36 hours since I had anything to eat. Sadly, even with me forgetting to eat, I still don't have my summer body.

Anyway, enough babbling. I was browsing through some cards and I came across a set I liked. Well, a subset is probably more accurate. The 2010 Topps T206 set was okay, though it reminded me a lot of Allen & Ginter. Nothing special. However, it had some pretty sweet autographs. All were mini autos, but they were different "brands": Piedmont, Old Mill and Polar Bear.

But there was another, and it stands head and shoulders above the rest: The American Caramel auto. So unique - how often do you see a mini auto that has the card turned horizontally?! NEVER! That's how often!

I fell in love instantly, and started looking out. The first I bought set me back 99 cents:

Sean Rodriguez. Not a big-name guy, but that is one beautiful signature.

I was going to post the card, but I thought to myself that I needed to announce this project with a name bigger than Sean Rodriguez.

No offense, Mr. Rodriguez.

So, I will announce my intention to collect all of the 2010 T206 American Caramel autos with this card:

Hall of Famer Duke Snider! This is my first card signed by a Hall of Famer. Perfect way to announce it.

So there it is. I'm working on collecting all the T206 autos. You can track my progress here, and if you have any of these cards, let's chat!

  1. Looks like a fun project. The checklist has a nice balance of young guys and veterans. The Pujols might be a little tough.

  3. Those are pretty cool. Why haven't there been more horizontal autos until now?
