I Need Your Feedback!

I've made a purchases on COMC since I've started collecting again. They have all been relatively cheap cards or cards that I thought were listed at a price that was fair.

My question is this: what is the best way to go about making an offer on COMC? I don't want to offend anyone, but there are cards that I would like to have for my various collections that are, in my opinion, overpriced.

Thoughts?

  1. Just make an offer. I doubt anyone would be offended. Hell, make me a few offers on there while you're at it.

  2. Just offer what you are willing to pay. Worst they can do is say no.

  3. That's about it. The majority of my offers get accepted, so unless you try to low ball the person your chances are good.

  4. I'm with these guys. Unless you offer $10 for a Superfractor that's listed for $50K (like I did on Ebay). You should be fine.

  5. It's funny that you mention offending sellers. I worry about this too... but only because they might be a fellow blogger or a dealer I know in my area. I'd had to have them think that I'm such a cheapskate. However... that's who I am. I want the best deal I can possibly get. In the end, I usually find completed sales on eBay and shoot an offer just under that, but if their price is already low, I have no problem paying their asking price.
